Big Feed, Glasgow

For my final blog post I’ve come full circle and back to the place where my blog began – Glasgow. I had originally planned to post about a different city in every post but this was too good not to share with you all and so this week’s post is about Scotland’s biggest indoor street food market- Big Feed.

Big Feed (like I said) is a street food market located in Govan and takes place every couple of weeks. It offers a wide selection of street food varying from Greek kebabs to loaded hot dogs and even churros, with the stalls varying each time the event is held.

In addition to the assortment of delicious food stalls and bar service, Big Feed also provides entertainment with live music and DJs and also retro video games, meaning there is truly something for everyone (they even have dog treats for your pets). There is a small fee of £2 to gain entry into the market however, free parking is available onsite and the food is also reasonably priced for what you’re getting.

When I attended Big Feed, I went straight for the ‘Salt N Chilli’ stall as I had heard great things about the food. Me and my friend decided to share chicken balls, chips and vegetable spring rolls (all salt and chilli seasoned of course) topped with curry sauce which I have to say was the best curry sauce I have ever tasted (which says a lot as I love a Chinese).

And of course, (as you probably all know by now) a meal for me isn’t complete without a dessert, so after my salt and chilli extravaganza, I headed for the ‘Muerte Por Churros’ stall. Sadly, I was far too full to order churros but I did manage to make room for a chocolate brownie milkshake while my friend opted for the Galaxy caramel flavour.

Overall, my experience of Big Feed was very positive as I thoroughly enjoyed the food, entertainment as also the relaxed atmosphere. If you haven’t been I strongly advise you to go along to the next Big Feed event as I most certainly will be paying it a second visit!

On a final note, I hope you have enjoyed reading my blog as much as I have enjoyed writing it for the past five weeks. Hopefully it has inspired you to visit some of the places I have spoken about and try some of the places I have recommended as they truly are the best.

Thanks for reading,
B x

6 Best Places To Eat in Bratislava, Slovakia

Last month I visited Slovakia's capital city, Bratislava! To be perfectly honest I went with low expectations as in my opinion, it is not a very popular tourist destination that I hear of many people visiting, however, my expectations were greatly exceeded. With its attractive sights, quirky vintage shops and its stunning cathedral, Bratislava has a lot to offer but the best part of my trip was of course the food. I can honestly say there was not a single meal that I had in the five days I was there that wasn't exceptional and well above average, but if I told you about every single place I ate at this short post would turn into a novel, so instead I've selected the most memorable six... 6. Pollito Cheesecake I am a lover of all things sweet (especially chocolate) meaning that I always have room for dessert and one of my favourite desserts of all time is cheesecake which is why it was imperative for me to visit Pollito. The cafe offered a small but an ama...

Mercado de San Miguel, Madrid

In my previous blog posts I've expressed my love for various things including Spanish tapas, street food and my greatest love of all, dessert. Therefore, this week's blog post will centre around a place which offers it all- the famous 'Mercado de San Miguel' (or the Market of San Miguel in English). This gastronome's paradise is located in Madrid's old quarter and is one of the most popular and oldest food markets in Madrid as it dates back to the early 1900's. The market offers a wide selection of food with there being over twenty different stalls serving the likes of tapas, antipasto, paella, seafood dishes, fresh fruit, sweet pastries and even alcohol. The centre of the market acts as a dining area where everyone can sit together to enjoy their food. With there being such a huge variety of stalls to choose from I really struggled to decide which ones to eat from but I ended up having bruschetta with mozzarella, chicken and chorizo paella (t...
